Well, I have learned a few things I can do that help and I wanted to share them with you. Many of them have been inspired by my recent interest in Marie Antoinette. DiSclAimER: These may not be spouse approved. lol
1. Talk to an art friend. Spouses are nice, friends are nice but there is something about a friend who shares the same passion as you and understands you on a level others sometimes can't (thanks Roc).
2. Put on or buy something soft, sparkly, silky, and/or something with lace and ribbons. Have you ever looked at a photo of Marie and you could almost feel the textures of the elegant materials and trims. It seems like lots of times this helps boost my mood.
3. Create something pretty! If inspiration is on your side create something that makes you feel warm and girly when you are done. I love dark grungy things too, and they have there time and place, but when I am feeling blah there is nothing better than something bright and friley that makes me feel pretty after it is created.
4. Do something kind! Encourage someone, give something away, give a random act of kindness, bake someone cookies. This is a sure trick to make you feel warm, kind and girly.
5. Organize your art supplies. The feeling of everything neat and tidy can make you feel 10 lbs lighter, and that just might make you want to put on that something soft and silky lol!
So here's the deal. I am giving everyone of you a "You're the Queen Award". That means you should take time to do at least one thing for yourself this week. Treat yourself like a queen! Take a longer coffee break, go to a movie, go shopping, take a nice long bubble bath. Then encourage at least 2 friends by passing on the award and telling them something nice. Post a comment on your blog with the 2 or more friends you selected explaining what the award is and a link to my giveaway. Be sure to let them know you are giving them an award. THEN . . . . come back to my blog and post a comment with your email address and the URL to your blog post.
Are you ready for this?! For your lovely inspiration on being a Queen Stampington & Co. has been so gracious to donate THREE of their new "Marie" issues! It does not matter what type of art you enjoy, inside you will find Decadent Vintage Jewelry, Royal Shoes, Art Dolls, two different collaborative book projects, a theater, faux cake, and so much more! There is so much eye candy in this magazine you will find your self looking at it over and over again. Trust me, lol I say that from experiance.
You can find out more about this wonderful publication by clicking on the "Marie" magazine image above.
So that makes 3 giveaways what makes the fourth?
To help get you started on your pretty creative projects I will be giving away this beautiful artist
kit loaded with pink, blue, and starkly things! I have encluded a variety of different sized wallpaper pieces. Some of my very favorites! There is one larger piece that is blue and cream, and then one that is pink stripped with a rose on it. Both can be seen in the photo to the right.
I also added all kinds of different ribbons and laces. For texture I included some vintage corcheting and some shabby fabric.
I had found that I really enjoy including old Millinery flowers in my recent art projects so I made sure to include a nice variety of flowers for you! Since I love texture I added fabric flowers, paper flowers, velevet leaves, and more. I also included a few hard embellishments like chandilar crystals, fabric button brads, and of course you can't be a queen without a crown or two!
Inside the kit you will also find a variety of German scraps and boarders. I just had to share some of the new lovely German Scraps I purchased from Retro Cafe. I included one of her large and small couples, a oval scrap, and a cluster of her new Spring Flowers. I also included from my personal collection a few large and small angel wings, and large and small crowns.
SO HERE'S HOW TO WIN!
1. Take time to treat your self like a Queen! It will make you feel good, which will make others feel good.
2. Share the love by passing your award on to as many people as you would like but at least 2 by posting on your blog the names of the friends you will be sharing your award with. You can get a image of the award on my left sidebar. Please also include a link to this blog so they have a chance to win too, because we love each other.
3. Make sure the people you selected know so they can pick up their award.
4. Come back here and post a comment letting me know you would like to be entered into the TWO DIFFERENT DRAWINGS (one for one of the three magazines, and one for the kit). If you already have a issue of "Marie" please let me know you would like to be entered into the "Artist Kit" drawing ONLY. Please be sure to leave an email address where you can be contacted.
5. On JUNE 5TH I will select the winners for the four prizes! This should give everyone a chance to select their friends for the award, and pamper themselves. I will email the winners to let them know. You will need to provide your address which will be sent to Stampington & Co. so that they may mail out your magazine. For the winner of the kit I will be sending that to you personaly within 5 business days.
So what do you say, let's be inspired by Marie and go feel pretty! GOOD LUCK!
OH AND P.S I will be also posting ANOTHER giveaway in a couple of days for the 3rd Annual Cottage Charm Giveaway Day
